Last I heard, he was ours to lose. He's a legacy 2x over, both his pops and grandfather played at Miami. He was reported by plenty of people who were in attendance at the Miami spring game that he was talking up Miami to all the recruits there. All that being said--as usual, it's recruiting, and anything can happen. Miami has limited spots as this will be a small class. If other guys at DE pull the trigger on offers before Chickillo, it may see him on the outside looking in, even with his family's ties to UM. He has said from the get-go that he wanted to go through the recruiting process and make this thing his own...he's quoted his dad as saying "I went through my recruitment, time for you to go through yours". Also, Miami hasn't had a lot of good luck out of Tampa (more specifically Plant HS), but Tampa in general hasn't been a really fertile place for Miami to pull recruits from as of late. Miami might take 2-3 DE's in this class IF that, and they're on the trail of kids like Anthony Rabasa, Ishaq Williams, Curt Maggitt, and Bryant Dubose along with their recruitment of Chickillo.
If nothing wild happens, I expect him to be a Cane, but he's not what I'd call a "lock".
